Nars
I’ll be honest: I am a very predictable consumer, who gravitates towards cool brands. And as far as make-up is concerned, they don’t come much hipper than Nars. I am a particular fan of his eyeshadow duos, which range from the pairing of subtle colours to more outrageous, clashing shades. I also love his range of single eyeshadows, particularly the colours shot through with glitter. All have excellent pigment for a strong, but not overdone, look.
The quality of Nars’ blushers is also excellent. The cult colour is Orgasm,
which, said to suit every skin tone, I wore for years, until the make-up trial for my recent wedding day, when the excellent make-up artist who transformed me into a flawless bride, told me the colour did not suit my slightly pinky-toned red-headed, fair skin tone. In hindsight, she was absolutely right.
Orgasm, which does suit most skin tones (just not mine, sadly), is also available in a Multiple, a multi-purpose stick designed for use on eyes, cheeks, lips, and body.
Nars also has a good skincare range, from which there are 2 products I adore. The first is his Aqua Gel Hydrator, which – although one may balk at the exorbitant cost of a product that claims to be 87% water – really is an excellent skin cream. I used to travel a lot for work, and no other product has ever been able to hydrate my skin on frequent long-haul flights to anything near the same extent as this product. It is not ideal as an everyday moisturiser, but I would certainly recommend it for frequent flyers.
The other product is the Brightening Serum, which does just as its name suggests.

[...] The Japanese Brand Shu Uemura is another of my favourites. Their well-pigmented colours allow for excellent quality and coverage, and the colours themselves, while bold and achingly cool, are very wearable, and often more subtle than those of Nars. [...]
